It was the first “execution” of its kind by the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) group in Syria, which has proclaimed the establishment of an Islamic “caliphate” straddling Syria and Iraq.
“The Islamic state carried out its first sentence of death by stoning against a woman in Tabaqa, accusing her of adultery,” said the Britain-based Observatory, referring to a town in Raqa province, most of which is under ISIS control.
An activist in the province confirmed the report, and said the stoning took place in a public square in the Tabaqa market area on Thursday evening.
A second activist in Raqa, Hadi Salameh, said the woman was reportedly in her thirties, but that few details were known about her except that she was killed after sentencing by an ISIS religious court.
What is stoning? According to About.com: "How It Works: The prisoner is buried either up to his waist (if male) or up to her shoulders (if female) and then pelted with stones by a crowd of volunteers until obviously battered to death. Under the terms of most fundamentalist courts, the stones must be small enough that death cannot reasonably be expected to result from only one or two blows, but large enough to cause physical harm. The average execution by stoning is extremely painful, lasting at least 10 to 20 minutes."
WTF? Stoning? And many liberals in the U.S. think that AMERICA is a bad country? How about THIS? If you are an American, and think America is such a bad country, go spend a summer in Syria. If you survive that, and don't get stoned to death for some religious infraction, feel free to come back home to America. At least then you'll have something to compare it to!
