GM has issued a "stop delivery" order that will interrupt supply of one of its hottest selling vehicles: the 2015 Chevrolet Corvette.
The auto maker wants to fix two potential problems with the vehicle before they leave the plant in Bowling Green, Ky., or leave dealer lots, spokesman Alan Adler said. An air bag problem affects about 2,000 Corvettes that are either at the plant or at dealerships, and a parking-brake issue affects an additional 800 cars, most of which are at dealers.
Mr. Adler said some cars are being inspected for a suspect part that connects the air bag to the steering wheel.
Separately, another batch of Corvettes are on hold because they may have been built with only one of the rear parking brake cables fully seated and engaged. The part must be inspected to assure the parking brake is operating on both brake drums.
A good friend of mine is a Corvette owner.
Yeah, Corvette owners probably need a working air bag and working brakes. Duh.
WHY didn't GM properly check the Corvettes, Corvettes with a starting price of $79,000, for safety BEFORE they sold them? W-H-Y were they selling cars that didn't comply with these basic vehicle safety issues???
Is GM trying to kill Corvette owners?
