War On E-cigs

Today, The State of California has declared electronic cigarettes a "health threat" and wants to regulate and ban e-cigs the same as cigarettes.

This is based solely on junk science, BOGUS research, and the lobbying of anti-smoking zealots. How can you regulate e-cigs the same as tobacco, e-cigs contain NO tobacco! And e-cigs have been proven to be much safer, and much more environmentally friendly, than cigarettes.

Electronic cigarettes a "health threat"? Ban them like cigarettes? The California State Legislature? They WRONG!

I have one thing to say to the State of California:

Leave my e-cigs alone!

no-flow shower head

Thanks, Washington, for regulating my shower. Thanks, assholes, for my low-flow NO-FLOW shower head.

According to the federal government, "Federal regulations mandate that new shower head flow rates can't exceed more than 2.5 gallons per minute (gpm) at a water pressure of 80 pounds per square inch (psi)." 2.5 gallons per minute is 50% lower than it used to be!

In my experience, "low-flow" shower head means not enough water pressure to rinse the soap off my body!

For 20 years I had a nice shower head. A great shower head. Plenty of power, plenty of water pressure. The water pressure from my shower head was so strong it practically knocked me backwards! A power shower. Then, after 20 wonderful years, the shower head became severely corroded and was recently replaced. My wonderful "power shower" was replaced with a "low-flow" shower.
Here's what happens now when I take a "low-flow" shower:

I turn on the shower, adjust the temperature, and step in. I wet my body and soap up. I go to rinse off the soap and find that the freaking shower head rinses off only a small area of my body at a time. And the shower heads lacks enough power and pressure to rinse the fucking soap off my body! It's not a "low-flow" shower head, it's a NO-FLOW" shower head! And I can't adjust the shower head downward enough to rinse the soap off below my waist. Yes, thanks to the stupid mandatory low-flow shower head, I can't rinse off my soapy private parts!

Thanks to the government-mandated low-flow shower head, every time I take a shower, I am forced--by the government--to walk around with a soapy dick!

Why is the government in my shower?

talent crackdown

"Los Angeles is moving to crack down on talent scams against aspiring entertainers being charged outrageous amounts for Hollywood representation.

City Attorney Mike Feuer today announced his office has launched a public awareness campaign, in coordination with entertainment industry advocacy groups, to help people avoid being bilked by such schemes.

'Thousands come to Hollywood every year to pursue their dreams in the entertainment industry,' Feuer said in a statement. “We need to protect them from those who would dash those dreams by taking unfair advantage of them.”

Los Angeles government officials are spending taxpayer time and money cracking down on some scams against actors? That's instead of addressing and fixing the huge, critical problems in L.A. that area residents suffer from, like having the absolute worst traffic congestion in the nation, no new jobs, unaffordable high rents and home prices, poverty, gangs, crime and a host of other major issues facing the second largest city in America.

Congratulations to the L.A. City Council, City Attorney, and Mayor, for spending taxpayer time and money protecting a couple of thousand wannabe actors, many of whom are not even permanent residents (many come to L.A. for a couple of months to try and break into showbiz and, being unsuccessful, go back home to wherever they came from). Yeah, let's have the government protect a few thousand "visiting" wannabe actors--instead of protecting and helping MILLIONS of L.A. area full-time, permanent, taxpaying residents. Whose brilliant idea was THAT?

new movies suck

So, last night I watched Godzilla (the 2014 remake). It was yet another ill conceived, poorly written movie, with a hard-to-follow convoluted story and stupid looking, non-scary monsters. I watched it for an hour or so and finally turned it off and went to bed. I did not care how the movie ended. Luckily, the movie was free on one of my my premium cable channels. As of 2015, I am skeptical of ANY "new" movie I rent or watch. I have lowered my expectations of finding a good, recently released movie--to zero. Nearly every movie I have seen lately--including the 2015 Academy Award nominated films--has good acting but little or nothing else. It seems that movies today now only mainly present a visual component, or a "true story" (which should be freaking DOCUMENTARIES not full length feature movies!). Though today's movies do feature very good, good or acceptable acting (talking heads), that is not enough. The last two or three dozen or so movies I have seen, with one or two exceptions, had lousy scripts, an uninteresting or impossible-to-follow story line, little or no emotional involvement for the audience, and no rooting interest. Worse than a bad comic book. Am I being too demanding? No, I don't think so. Movies made today are mediocre, or incomprehensible, or both. Perhaps major motion pictures are now being made by 11-year-olds, or millennials, or the "F Generation". With low, or no, standards. Welcome to the new America.

Unlike today's movies, I am producing and writing some good stuff. In the past month, I wrote two books, and today I am submitting the copyright for my newest book to the Library of Congress, submitting the book to Heather, the Witch, for formatting, eating lunch, and taking a nap. Welcome to MY new America!
